UN chief mourns Kuwait Amir’s death

NEW YORK, Sept 29: UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres Tuesday voiced deep sadness over the passing away of His Highness the Amir of Kuwait Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah.

He made the remark during a press conference just ahead of the High-Level Meeting on Financing for Development in the Era of COVID-19 and Beyond.
Guterres hailed the late Amir as an exceptional man of wisdom, generosity, peace as well as bridge-building.

The UN chief spoke highly of the late Amir’s humanitarian initiatives and efforts that have saved millions of people during conflicts and natural disasters.
He voiced deep condolence to the people and government of Kuwait over the demise of His Highness the Amir. (KUNA)
