UK's fast jets continue defensive missions across Middle East, welcomes ceasefire

LONDON, Apr 8: The UK Ministry of Defence said that British fast jets, supported by Voyager refuelling aircraft and Royal Navy helicopters, continued defensive missions overnight across Cyprus, Jordan, Qatar, the UAE and Bahrain.

In a statement dated 08 April 2026, the ministry said the United Kingdom and its allies welcome the two-week ceasefire agreed overnight, describing it as a “vital step towards stability and security in the region.”

It added that the UK will continue to ensure the security of its forces and support the defence of its partners in the region.
