LONDON, Jun 13: The United Kingdom Maritime Trade Operations (UKMTO) has reported that a tanker was struck by an unknown projectile off the coast of Oman.
According to UKMTO, the incident occurred six nautical miles east of Oman, where the vessel was hit on its port bow. The agency said it received a report confirming the strike but did not provide further details on the nature or origin of the projectile.
UKMTO added that all crew members on board are safe and that no environmental damage has been reported following the incident. The tanker is continuing its voyage to its next port of call.
Authorities have not yet attributed responsibility for the attack, and investigations into the incident are ongoing.
