MUSCAT / ABU DHABI, Jul 25: The United Kingdom Maritime Trade Operations (UKMTO) has issued an advisory after receiving a report of an incident involving a tanker and military forces in the Gulf of Oman.
In an advisory issued on Saturday, UKMTO said the incident was reported on July 24, with authorities now aware of the situation and relevant investigations underway.
“Vessels are advised to consider the latest maritime security information and maintain awareness of the evolving operational environment,” UKMTO said.
The agency did not provide further details on the vessel involved, the location of the incident, or the military forces reportedly involved.
The Gulf of Oman remains a key maritime route for global energy shipments and has witnessed several security incidents in recent years, including attacks and confrontations involving commercial vessels and regional military forces.
