UK gov’t limits quarantine to five days for travel to England

LONDON, Nov 24 : Mandatory coronavirus quarantine for travellers arriving in England will be reduced to five days from December 15, providing a PCR test returns negative at the airport of arrival.
Visitors will be required to book and pay for the test from a government-accredited private provider for between GBP 65-120 (USD 87-160), British State Secretary for Transport Grant Shapps said.


The move is part of a new strategy to revive an aviation industry hardly hit by the pandemic while ensuring the safety of the British public from incoming infection.


As things stand, the decision does not apply to Scotland, Northern Ireland and Wales, with their local governments tasked with administering guidelines related to the disease KUNA)
