LONDON, Apr 5: The UK Ministry of Defence said its forces successfully intercepted multiple Iranian drones overnight, as military operations continue across key areas in the Middle East.
According to the Ministry of Defence, RAF Regiment gunners operating in a high-threat environment were able to shoot down several drones during the engagement.
The statement added that Royal Air Force Eurofighter Typhoon and F-35 Lightning II aircraft, supported by Airbus Voyager tankers and Royal Navy AW101 Merlin and AW159 Wildcat helicopters, continue to conduct defensive missions.
Operations are ongoing over the Eastern Mediterranean and in Jordan, Bahrain, and the United Arab Emirates, amid heightened regional tensions.
The ministry said force protection measures remain at the highest levels to ensure the safety of UK personnel, adding that coordination with allied forces is continuing.
