KUWAIT CITY, Jul 23: Kuwait customs officials have thwarted an attempt to smuggle approximately 9 kilograms of a narcotic chemical liquid concealed inside shampoo bottles in a shipment arriving from the United Kingdom.

The seizure was carried out by inspectors from the Air Cargo Customs Department’s Targeting Team under the General Administration of Customs, following heightened inspection measures aimed at preventing the entry of prohibited substances.

According to the customs authorities, officials became suspicious of the shipment and subjected it to detailed inspection procedures. The examination uncovered the hidden narcotic liquid, which had been concealed inside shampoo containers in an attempt to bypass customs controls.

The seized substance was confiscated, and legal procedures were initiated against those involved.

The operation was conducted in line with directives from First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Fahad Yousef Saud Al-Sabah to strengthen customs monitoring and combat attempts to smuggle illegal materials into Kuwait.

The General Administration of Customs reaffirmed its commitment to enhancing security at all entry points by using advanced inspection methods and available resources to prevent drug trafficking and protect public safety, in coordination with relevant security authorities.
