KUWAIT CITY, Jun 10: The Ambassador of the United Kingdom to Kuwait, HE Qudsi Rashid, has visited Dickson House, the former residence of the British Political Agent, as part of efforts to strengthen the longstanding cultural and historical relations between Kuwait and the United Kingdom.
During the visit, the Ambassador was accompanied by Kuwaiti-British relations researcher Issa Dashti and Mohammed bin Redha, Acting Assistant Secretary-General for Antiquities and Museums at the National Council for Culture, Arts and Letters (NCCAL).
The delegation conducted a guided tour of the historic residence, which is regarded as an important architectural and historical landmark reflecting the deep-rooted ties between Kuwait and Britain during the era of the British Residency.
Ambassador Rashid viewed a collection of historical artifacts and documents preserved within the museum, which provide insight into the period when the British Political Agency operated in Kuwait. He was also briefed on ongoing preservation and restoration efforts undertaken by NCCAL to protect and maintain the site as part of Kuwait’s national heritage.
Officials highlighted the importance of Dickson House as a key cultural symbol that documents a significant chapter in Kuwait’s history and underscores the enduring relationship between the two countries.
