UAE coach looks on as players intensify training for the Asian Cup.

ABU DHABI, Jan 8: UAE concluded its preparatory camp on Saadiyat Island in Abu Dhabi. The team, under the guidance of Portuguese coach Paulo Bento and his assistants, wrapped up their training at New York University Stadium. This preparation is in anticipation of the upcoming Asian Cup finals, scheduled to take place in the Qatari capital, Doha, from January 12 to February 10.

The national team delegation is set to depart for Doha today, comprising a squad of 26 players. The roster includes Khaled Issa, Ali Khasif, Khaled Tawhid, Khaled Al Hashimi, Khalifa Al Hammadi, Mohammed Al Attas, Ahmed Jameel, Khaled Al Dhanhani, Zayed Sultan, Abdul Rahman Saleh, Abdullah Idris, and Badr Nasser. Other players making the journey are Ali Salmin, Yahya Nader, Muhammad Abbas, Majed Rashid, Abdullah Ramadan, Tahnoon Al Zaabi, Abdullah Hamad, Yahya Al Ghassani, Hareb Abdullah, Fabio de Lima, Ali Saleh, Sultan Adel, Ali Mabkhout, and Caio Canedo.

Throughout the camp, the national team engaged in two friendly matches. The first saw them secure victory against the Kyrgyz national team with a lone goal scored by Ali Mabkhout. However, in the second friendly, they faced a defeat against the Omani team, with the opponent securing a single goal. The technical staff prioritized the involvement of a substantial number of players in both matches to assess their technical and physical readiness for the upcoming tournament.
