UAE to respond decisively to security threats

ABU DHABI, May 5: UAE President HH, Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, said the country will respond “with decisiveness and strength” to any threats against its sovereignty, as he praised the armed forces’ role in countering recent Iranian attacks.

In a statement marking the 50th anniversary of the unification of the UAE Armed Forces, Sheikh Mohamed highlighted what he described as their “decisive role” in responding to attacks targeting civilians and critical infrastructure. The remarks were carried by the state news agency WAM.

“This year’s anniversary is a particularly proud occasion, given the decisive role played by the UAE’s armed forces in responding to the Iranian terrorist attacks targeting civilians and civilian infrastructure,” he said.

The UAE leader stressed that the country has maintained a focus on development and prosperity since its founding, while remaining prepared to confront security threats.

“The UAE has pursued prosperity while responding with decisiveness and strength to any threat to its sovereignty, security, and the safety of its people and residents,” he said.

He added that the country’s military capabilities, social cohesion, and economic resilience position it to deter aggression and sustain its development path.

“The UAE, through the strength of its armed forces, the cohesion of its society, and the resilience of its development model, remains able to deter any aggression, confront any threat, and continue its journey of progress,” Sheikh Mohamed said.
