DUBAI, Nov 21: The President of the United Arab Emirates, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, has called on the UAE community and its institutions to celebrate decades of Emirati-Kuwaiti brotherhood, beginning January 29th for a week.
Speaking to the Emirates News Agency (WAM), Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed emphasised the depth of the UAE’s ties with Kuwait, saying: “Our relations with Kuwait are relations of brotherhood, love, and kinship. Kuwait has been a support before and after our union, offering help and solidarity, and their support continues to this day with sincerity.”
He urged all UAE institutions to mark the occasion, stating: “Celebrating Kuwait, its leadership, and its generous people is our duty. May God protect Kuwait, its Emir, and its people, and perpetuate its glory and honor.”
UAE Leadership Reaffirms Strong Ties with Kuwait
His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President of the UAE, Prime Minister, and Ruler of Dubai, highlighted the unbreakable bonds between the two nations, describing the relationship as “a brotherhood that time cannot change, and a love that only grows stronger with each passing day.”
On his social media account, Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid wrote: “The President of the State has directed us to celebrate decades of brotherhood with our sister Kuwait. We are bound to Kuwait by unbreakable ties, and we direct all federal authorities to implement the President’s directives and to demonstrate the true extent of the love that unites the two brotherly peoples.”
He also shared a photo of His Highness the Emir of Kuwait, Sheikh Meshaal Al-Ahmad, alongside Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed, captioned: “Kuwait and the Emirates are brothers forever.”
Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed—Vice President, Deputy Prime Minister, and Head of the Presidential Court—echoed the sentiments, stating that “the love of Kuwait is firmly rooted in the hearts of the people of the Emirates and its noble stances remain in our memory.”
He added: “Celebrating our sister Kuwait for seven days is an opportunity to express the love that unites the seven emirates in one spirit. We are delighted to share with the community these days dedicated to celebrating Kuwait, its leadership, and its generous people.”
Dubai Leadership Joins in Celebration
His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Defense, and Crown Prince of Dubai, confirmed the participation of Dubai in the celebrations, saying: “In response to the directives of His Highness the President of the State to celebrate the brotherly relations that unite us with our beloved Kuwait, its leadership and its people, we direct the Dubai government to work to participate in celebrating this extended brotherhood and these exceptional historical relations. Kuwait is part of us, and we are part of it. The UAE community will not forget its historical stances, and our brotherhood will remain firmly established forever.”
The weeklong celebrations, starting on January 29, will involve all seven emirates and highlight the enduring friendship, cultural ties, and historical relations between the United Arab Emirates and Kuwait.
