ABU DHABI, Aug 25: The confrontation between the United States and Iran is entering a new phase marked by escalating economic pressure, UAE Presidential Diplomatic Adviser Anwar Gargash said on Tuesday, warning that Tehran’s attacks on Arab Gulf states had deepened its crisis and weakened its position.
Gargash said the confrontation had moved beyond the memorandum of understanding stage and that attempts to dominate the Strait of Hormuz had ended. He described Iran’s attacks on Arab Gulf states as a “gravely misguided strategic choice” that had increased Tehran’s isolation.
“The path out of this war does not lie through targeting the Arab Gulf states, but rather through working with them to pave the way for de-escalation and the pursuit of a political exit from the conflict,” Gargash said.
