DUBAI, March 24: One of the UAE’s largest education providers, Taaleem, has moved to resume in-person learning, becoming among the first private school groups to apply to reopen campuses under new government guidelines.
The group, which operates 37 schools across the UAE, has submitted applications to the authorities to welcome students back to classrooms from Monday, March 30, pending approval.
The move follows a decision by the UAE Ministry of Education allowing private schools, nurseries, and universities to request a return to face-to-face learning based on operational needs. Earlier, the Ministry announced that distance learning would continue for the first two weeks of the third academic term, beginning March 23, after spring break.
In a letter to staff, CEO Alan Williamson confirmed that the application process is underway, subject to approval from regulators, including the Knowledge and Human Development Authority and the Abu Dhabi Department of Education and Knowledge.
The development comes as regional countries, including Qatar, also move toward resuming in-person classes, signaling a broader shift back to normal schooling across the Gulf.
