UAE President’s visit sends powerful message of ‘unity’

KUWAIT CITY, July 11: Ambassador of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) to Kuwait Dr. Matar Al Neyadi said the visit of UAE President His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan to His Highness the Amir Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al- Jaber Al-Sabah is within the framework of solidarity and support for the sisterly State of Kuwait and its steadfastness in facing the brutal Iranian aggression. In a statement to reporters, Al Neyadi affirmed that the visit reflects the depth of the fraternal relations between the two countries – leaders and people, as well as the commitment to continue their consultations and coordination. He stressed that Kuwait has a special place in the hearts of the leaders and people of the UAE, pointing out that such visit at this time underscores the shared destiny, exchange of vision and advice on various issues, and the continuous coordination between the two nations. He added that the visit is within the brotherhood context and the commitment to strengthen political coordination between the two leaders.

He revealed that consultations and coordination between the UAE and Kuwait are ongoing at various levels, while pointing out that Bahrain, in its capacity as the Arab representative to the Security Council, submitted draft resolutions against the Iranian aggression. He confirmed that consultations and coordination regarding draft resolutions are ongoing with all countries in the region, adding that the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) states issued joint statements denouncing the Iranian aggression and its hostile practices towards the region.

He expressed his appreciation for the reception of His Highness the Amir, emphasizing that this gesture reflects the special place that His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed holds in the heart of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad and the Kuwaiti political leadership, as the case in the UAE. He said the Kuwaiti political leadership, and Kuwait itself, its government and people, enjoy a special status among the leaders and people of the UAE, stressing that bilateral relations are based on mutual affection, respect and history. He indicated that the idea of establishing the GCC originated in Kuwait with Emirati support, followed by the endorsement of the other GCC member states. He added that the UAE President is the first leader to visit Kuwait since the beginning of the Iranian aggression against the region.

He said the security cooperation among the GCC states is ongoing, stemming from their shared security and destiny. He explained that any threat against Kuwait or any other Gulf state is a threat to the UAE, and vice versa. He added that the GCC countries strengthened their coordination in security, military, economic, health and other fields, contributing to the consolidation and unification of visions and the exchange of expertise. He expressed his sincere wish for security, peace and stability to prevail in the Gulf region and the world, indicating that communication between the leaders of Kuwait and the UAE will always be the cornerstone for maintaining Gulf solidarity and overcoming common challenges
