ABU DHABI, May 5: The UAE Ministry of Defense said the country’s air defense systems were actively responding to missile and drone attacks launched from Iran.
In a statement, the ministry confirmed that air defenses had been deployed to intercept multiple threats, including ballistic missiles, cruise missiles and unmanned aerial vehicles.
“The UAE's air defenses are currently dealing with missile and drone attacks originating from Iran,” the statement said.
It added that sounds heard in various parts of the country were the result of interception operations carried out by defense systems targeting incoming projectiles.
Authorities did not immediately provide details on damage or casualties as defensive measures continued.
