ABU DHABI, Mar 31: United Arab Emirates air defences on 31 March 2026 engaged 8 ballistic missiles, 4 cruise missiles and 36 unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) launched from Iran, according to official defence statements.
Authorities said that since the start of the ongoing attacks, UAE air defences have intercepted a total of 433 ballistic missiles, 19 cruise missiles and 1,977 UAVs.
The Ministry of Defence confirmed casualties among military personnel and civilians, including members of the armed forces, a Moroccan civilian contractor, and individuals of multiple nationalities. It also reported 188 injuries ranging from minor to severe among residents and foreign nationals in the country.
The ministry reiterated that the UAE remains fully prepared to respond to any threats and will firmly confront attempts to undermine its sovereignty, security and stability, while continuing to safeguard national capabilities and infrastructure.
