ABU DHABI, Mar 27: The United Arab Emirates said its air defence systems on March 27, 2026, engaged and intercepted six ballistic missiles and nine unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) launched from Iran.
According to the Ministry of Defence, UAE air defences have now intercepted a total of 378 ballistic missiles, 15 cruise missiles, and 1,835 UAVs since the start of what it described as ongoing Iranian attacks.
The ministry said the strikes have resulted in casualties, including the “martyrdom” of two members of the armed forces, a Moroccan civilian contractor, and eight foreign nationals of Pakistani, Nepali, Bangladeshi, Palestinian, and Indian origin. It also reported 171 injuries of varying severity among residents and foreign nationals from multiple countries.
The Defence Ministry reaffirmed that the UAE remains fully prepared to confront any threats, stressing its commitment to protecting national sovereignty, security, and stability while safeguarding its interests and critical infrastructure.
