UAE Intercepts 5 Missiles and 17 Drones Amid Ongoing Iranian Attacks

ABU DHABI, March 24: The UAE Ministry of Defence announced that its air defence systems intercepted five ballistic missiles and 17 drones launched from Iran on Tuesday, as regional tensions continue to escalate.

Since the start of what authorities described as “Iranian aggression,” UAE air defences have neutralized a total of 357 ballistic missiles, 15 cruise missiles, and 1,806 drones, highlighting the scale of the ongoing threat.

The attacks have resulted in the deaths of two members of the armed forces while on duty, along with six civilian fatalities of multiple nationalities. A total of 161 people have been injured, with cases ranging from minor to severe, including citizens and residents from a wide range of countries.

The Ministry of Defence reaffirmed that it remains fully prepared to counter any threats, stressing its commitment to protecting the country’s sovereignty, security, and stability. Authorities said all necessary measures will continue to be taken to safeguard national interests and critical infrastructure.
