ABU DHABI, Mar 15: The UAE Ministry of Defence announced that its air defence systems successfully intercepted and destroyed four ballistic missiles and six drones launched from Iran toward the country on March 15. Authorities said the interceptions were part of ongoing efforts to counter continuing attacks targeting the UAE.
According to the ministry, since the start of the Iranian attacks, UAE air defences have neutralised a total of 298 ballistic missiles, 15 cruise missiles, and 1,606 drones.
The attacks have resulted in six deaths involving individuals of Emirati, Pakistani, Nepalese and Bangladeshi nationalities. In addition, 142 people sustained minor to moderate injuries, including residents and citizens of multiple nationalities such as Emirati, Egyptian, Sudanese, Ethiopian, Filipino, Pakistani, Iranian, Indian, Bangladeshi, Sri Lankan, Azerbaijani, Yemeni, Ugandan, Eritrean, Lebanese, Afghan, Bahraini, Comorian, Turkish, Iraqi, Nepalese, Nigerian, Omani, Jordanian, Palestinian, Ghanaian, Indonesian and Swedish.
Authorities said air defence systems remain on high alert to protect the country’s airspace and ensure public safety amid the continuing regional tensions.
