UAE Intercepts 23 Ballistic Missiles and 56 Drones

ABU DHABI, Apr 4: The Ministry of Defence said on Saturday that its air defence forces intercepted 23 ballistic missiles and 56 drones launched from Iran in the latest wave of attacks on April 4, 2026.

According to the statement, since the beginning of the attacks, UAE air defences have intercepted a total of 498 ballistic missiles, 23 cruise missiles, and 2,141 drones targeting the country. The ministry said its systems remain on high alert to counter ongoing aerial threats and protect national security.

The statement also noted casualties resulting from earlier incidents, including members of the armed forces, civilian contractors, and residents of multiple nationalities, with injuries ranging from minor to severe. Authorities did not provide additional details on the latest incident but confirmed that defensive operations continue around the clock.

The Defence Ministry reiterated its commitment to safeguarding the country’s sovereignty and stability, stressing that all threats will be met with firm and immediate responses as part of ongoing national defence efforts.
