UAE Intercepts 19 Ballistic Missiles and 26 Drones

ABU DHABI, Apr 2: The United Arab Emirates Ministry of Defence said its air defences on April 2, 2026, intercepted 19 ballistic missiles and 26 unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) launched from Iran.

It said that since the start of what it described as ongoing attacks, UAE defence systems have engaged a total of 457 ballistic missiles, 19 cruise missiles and 2,038 UAVs.

Authorities confirmed casualties resulting from the attacks, including two members of the armed forces killed while on duty, a Moroccan civilian contractor, and nine civilians of Pakistani, Nepali, Bangladeshi, Palestinian, and Indian nationalities. A total of 191 people were also injured, with cases ranging from minor to severe across multiple nationalities.

The ministry said the country remains on full alert and is prepared to respond to any further threats, stressing its commitment to protecting national sovereignty, security and stability and safeguarding its national interests and capabilities.
