UAE Intercepts 1 Missile and 11 Drones Amid Ongoing Attacks

ABU DHABI, Apr 7: The United Arab Emirates said its air defence systems intercepted one ballistic missile and 11 drones on April 7, as part of continued attempts to strike the country from Iran.

The UAE Ministry of Defense said the latest aerial threats were successfully neutralized, adding that air defence units remain on high alert.

Since the beginning of what the UAE described as sustained attacks, its forces have intercepted a total of 520 ballistic missiles, 26 cruise missiles, and 2,221 drones.

Authorities said no deaths, injuries, or casualties were reported in the latest incidents. Overall, the UAE said the total number of fatalities since the start of the attacks remains at 10 civilians of multiple nationalities, alongside two Emirati nationals and a Moroccan contractor working with the armed forces. The number of injured has reached 221 people of various nationalities.

The Ministry of Defence reaffirmed its readiness to respond to any threats, stressing that it will continue to counter attempts to undermine national security and protect the country’s sovereignty and stability.
