UAE Hopes Algeria’s Decision to Sever Ties Will Be Temporary

ABU DHABI, Sept 10: The United Arab Emirates has expressed hope that Algeria's decision to sever diplomatic relations with the UAE will be temporary, reaffirming its commitment to maintaining strong relations with countries around the world.

In a statement issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the UAE said it attaches great importance to its relations with all countries and remains committed to developing and strengthening them in a way that serves shared interests and promotes understanding, cooperation and prosperity.

The UAE said it hoped Algeria's decision would be temporary and would preserve the "fraternal ties" between the two countries and their peoples.

The Ministry also reaffirmed its appreciation for the Algerian people and its pride in the bonds linking the two peoples, particularly through the Algerian community living in the UAE and Algerian visitors.

The UAE said it remains committed to preserving and strengthening these ties and advancing shared interests between the two countries.
