ABU DHABI, Mar 25: The United Arab Emirates Ministry of Defence announced that air defence systems intercepted and destroyed nine UAVs launched from Iran on Wednesday, as regional tensions continue.
The ministry said that since the start of what it described as ongoing aggression, UAE air defences have intercepted a total of 357 ballistic missiles, 15 cruise missiles, and 1,815 drones.
The attacks have resulted in the deaths of three members of the armed forces while on duty, along with six civilian fatalities of multiple nationalities, including Pakistani, Nepali, Bangladeshi and Palestinian citizens. A total of 166 people have been injured, with cases ranging from minor to severe, involving individuals from a wide range of countries.
The ministry reaffirmed its full readiness to respond to any threats, stating it will continue to take firm action to safeguard the country’s sovereignty, security, and stability.
