ABU DHABI, Jun 13: The United Arab Emirates has firmly denied reports published by some international media outlets alleging that funds were transferred from the UAE to Iran, including claims involving a reported $3 billion payment.
In a statement, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs described the allegations as “entirely false and unfounded,” stressing that no frozen Iranian assets have been released, transferred, or facilitated through the UAE.
The ministry said the reports lacked a factual basis and reiterated that the UAE has not been involved in any transaction related to the alleged transfer of Iranian funds.
It also urged media organizations to exercise greater accuracy and responsibility in their reporting, calling on them to rely on official sources and avoid publishing or circulating unverified information and unsupported allegations.
The statement comes amid heightened international scrutiny of financial transactions involving Iran, with the UAE seeking to dispel speculation about the status of Iranian assets and alleged fund transfers.
