UAE Allows Expats With Expired Visas to Return Until March 31

ABU DHABI, Mar 12: The Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs and Port Security in the United Arab Emirates has announced that residents whose residency permits expired while they were outside the country will be allowed to return without obtaining a new entry visa.

The authority said the decision applies to residents who were unable to return due to the current regional situation, including airspace closures or flight suspensions. The measure took effect on February 28, 2026, and will remain valid until March 31, 2026.

Officials said eligible residents can re-enter the UAE during this period without applying for a new entry permit, easing travel procedures for those affected by disruptions. The announcement was shared through the UAE Government Media Office.
