UAE Air Defences Intercept 7 Ballistic Missiles, 15 Drones Amid Ongoing Attacks

ABU DHABI, March 19 — The UAE Ministry of Defence announced that air defence systems successfully engaged seven ballistic missiles and 15 unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) launched from Iran on March 19, 2026.

The ministry stated that since the start of what it described as Iranian aggression, UAE air defences have intercepted a total of 334 ballistic missiles, 15 cruise missiles, and 1,714 drones.

The attacks have resulted in the deaths of two UAE armed forces personnel while on duty, along with six civilians of various nationalities, including Pakistani, Nepali, Bangladeshi, and Palestinian.

A total of 158 people have been injured, with cases ranging from minor to severe. The injured include nationals from multiple countries, reflecting the diverse population residing in the UAE.

The Ministry of Defence reaffirmed its full readiness to respond to any threats, stressing that it will continue to take all necessary measures to safeguard the country’s sovereignty, security, and stability, while protecting national interests and capabilities.
