U.S. suspension of operations in Syria allowed IS to take Palmyra : Russia

MOSCOW, Dec 12 (Reuters) – The United States’ decision to suspend active operations in Syria’s Raqqa had allowed Islamic State militants to redeploy to the ancient city of Palmyra, RIA news agency quoted the Russian defence ministry as saying.
