KUWAIT CITY, Aug 16, (Agencies): The Ministry of Education has started granting residence permits valid for two years to its academic staff if they wish to do so, reports Al-Rai daily. This step coincides with the Ministry of Health’s adoption of a law on granting health insurance for expatriates that is also valid for two years as per the instruction of the Interior Ministry. A source from the educational sector told the daily that the abovementioned measure will ease procedures for the annual assessment of the teachers — whose number is estimated at more than 30,000. The source added this has prompted the Administrative Sector to receive 150 teachers per day — morning and evening shifts — during the period prior to the renewal of their residency permits
