MOSCOW, Aug 8: Two passengers reportedly ran onto the airport apron at Moscow’s Sheremetyevo International Airport on July 25 after arriving too late for their Aeroflot flight, apparently attempting to catch the aircraft.

The women approached an Aeroflot plane already being towed, prompting ground personnel to halt the operation for safety reasons. One of the passengers was reportedly seen dragging a suitcase as she moved toward the aircraft.

Airport ground staff and police quickly intervened, escorting the passengers away from the restricted area and preventing them from boarding the flight.

The incident highlights the serious safety risks associated with unauthorized access to airport aprons and aircraft movement areas, where towing operations, ground vehicles, aircraft engines and other equipment are in use.

While missing a flight can be frustrating, entering a restricted aircraft movement area is dangerous and can put passengers, crew, airport workers and aircraft at risk.
