KUWAIT CITY, JUL 13: Kuwait's General Department of Criminal Investigation has solved the armed robbery of a jewelry store in Jleeb Al-Shuyoukh, arresting two Syrian expatriates and recovering all the stolen gold jewelry.

According to a security source, one suspect was arrested in Jleeb Al-Shuyoukh and the other in Hawally. The stolen jewelry was found in their possession.

Investigations revealed that the suspects used a plastic toy gun to threaten the shop worker during the robbery, which took place at around 8 a.m. on Thursday. They allegedly tied up the employee before stealing gold bracelets, chains, necklaces and other jewelry, then fled the scene.

The source said the getaway vehicle had been stolen less than two weeks earlier, and the suspects fitted it with two different stolen license plates on the front and rear in an attempt to conceal its identity and evade detection.

Detectives identified the suspects through surveillance camera footage and forensic evidence, leading to their arrest in what authorities described as record time. During questioning, the suspects confessed to the crime and directed investigators to a desert location where they had hidden the stolen jewelry and the toy gun used in the robbery.

The recovered items were seized, and the suspects have been referred to the competent authorities to complete legal proceedings.
