KUWAIT CITY: The Capital Governorate Inspection Department of the General Food and Nutrition Authority (GFNA) has ordered the closure of four food establishments, including two slaughterhouses, a café and a biscuit factory, following the discovery of multiple health and regulatory violations.
The closures were carried out as part of a regulatory inspection campaign aimed at ensuring compliance with food safety standards and protecting public health.
According to the authority, inspectors found several violations, including failure to comply with hygiene and sanitation requirements during operations, operating establishments for purposes other than those specified in their licenses, continuing operations after the expiration of health licenses, and trading food products that did not meet approved technical and health standards.
The General Food and Nutrition Authority said legal action has been initiated against the violating establishments.
The authority reaffirmed its commitment to continuing inspection campaigns across all governorates and taking strict legal measures against violators to safeguard consumer health and ensure food safety standards are upheld.
