KUWAIT CITY, Nov 7: Personnel from the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) have taken into custody an unidentified young woman along with her ‘sister’ for running a fake account in the social media to make a fast buck, reports Al-Rai daily.
According to security sources the main suspect sent luring pictures and indecent videos to persons and promised to meet face to face in return for money. The suspect then gave a link to transfer the money and once the money is deposited in her account she placed a block on the person and went looking for another prey.
After the security authorities received several complaints, the CID men affiliated to the Cybercrime Department were able to arrest her with her accomplice. It is believed the suspects were able to make about 30,000 dinars in just two months. They have been referred for investigation and the case referred to the Public Prosecution.
