KUWAIT CITY, April 27: Security patrols in both the Capital and Farwaniya governorates carried out two separate operations on Monday evening that led to the arrest of wanted individuals and suspected drug traffickers, authorities said.
In the Capital Governorate, patrol officers intercepted a vehicle on the Abu Dhabi Coastal Road opposite the Sulaibikhat area after noticing it making a sudden and suspicious U-turn. Upon stopping the vehicle and approaching its occupants, officers observed that the three individuals inside appeared visibly nervous and confused, raising further suspicion.
A routine security check revealed that all three occupants were wanted in connection with drug-related and other criminal cases. The suspects were immediately taken into custody and transferred to the General Department for the Execution of Judgments for legal action.
In a separate incident in Farwaniya Governorate, police patrols arrested two Asian expatriates in the Jleeb Al-Shuyoukh area on Monday evening after they were found in possession of narcotics intended for distribution.
According to a security source, the suspects were first noticed during a routine patrol when they attempted to flee upon seeing security personnel. Officers pursued and apprehended them shortly thereafter. A search conducted at the scene led to the discovery of four bags containing methamphetamine (crystal meth), reportedly prepared for sale.
The two suspects, along with the seized narcotics, were referred to the General Department for Drug Control, where legal procedures are underway.
Authorities continue to intensify patrols across various areas as part of ongoing efforts to combat drug trafficking and apprehend wanted individuals.
