KUWAIT CITY, Oct 7: The General Traffic Department has arrested two buggie riders in separate incidents in Jahra for driving recklessly in unauthorized areas and endangering their own safety and the safety of other road users.
In the first incident, a traffic patrol spotted a motorcyclist driving recklessly in an unauthorized area. When officers ordered him to stop, he attempted to flee and collided with the patrol vehicle before being apprehended. He was cited for driving a buggie in an unauthorized area, reckless driving, endangering public safety and failing to comply with police orders. He was subsequently referred to the Central Prison.
In the second incident, another patrol caught a buggie rider driving recklessly in an unauthorized area. The suspect was apprehended and, as he is a minor, was referred to the Juvenile Protection Department.
The General Traffic Department said both motorcycles were impounded and sent to the crusher as part of the enforcement action.
The department warned riders against reckless riding and urged them to comply with orders from security personnel, stressing that violations that endanger public safety and failure to obey police instructions will be dealt with strictly under the law.
