Two Kuwaitis driving at 171 km/hour in a lock-up

KUWAIT CITY, June 8: The General Traffic Department continued its campaigns in various governorates to clamp down on speeding violations and arrest traffic violators. In recent campaigns, seven citizens were apprehended for committing grave violations. They were referred to the traffic police station and their cars were impounded. A security source revealed that the traffic officers arrested one citizen for driving recklessly, in addition to four others involved in car racing and two in the Capital Governorate.

The source indicated that two citizens were arrested in Jahra for driving at 171 kilometers per hour. Both citizens are awaiting further legal proceedings at the traffic police station and their cars remain impounded. Meanwhile, highway patrol officers referred an Arab expat to the traffic police station after arresting him for driving at 150 kilometers per hour on a highway. A security source stated that traffic officers spotted the Arab exceeding the speed limit. The officers stopped him, completed the necessary procedures, and then transferred him to the traffic police station to finalize the legal proceedings.
