Thomson Reuters’ (ALB) names Abdulaziz Taher Alkhateeb and Dr. Fawaz Khaled Alkhateeb among the Super 50 MENA Lawyers 2026, as Taher Group Law Firm reaches the finals in 10 categories at the Middle East Law Awards 2026

KUWAIT CITY, Oct 7: Asian Legal Business (ALB), part of Thomson Reuters, has named Abdulaziz Taher Alkhateeb, Founder and Senior Partner of Taher Group Law Firm, and Dr. Fawaz Khaled Alkhateeb, Managing Partner, among its Super 50 MENA Lawyers 2026, a regional list recognising 50 leading legal practitioners across the Middle East and North Africa.

The selection of two Kuwaiti lawyers from the same firm carries particular significance, bringing together the founding generation associated with the firm’s journey since its establishment in Kuwait in 1969 and its current leadership.

The recognition comes as Taher Group Law Firm and several members of its legal team have also reached the finals in 10 categories at the Middle East Law Awards 2026, with the winners scheduled to be announced at the awards ceremony in Dubai on 5 November.

Individually, Dr. Fawaz Khaled Alkhateeb is a finalist for Managing Partner of the Year (Regional), while Atyab Alshatti is a finalist for Woman Lawyer of the Year (Law Firm) and Noor Nasser Abdulsamad Alkhateeb for Young Lawyer of the Year (Law Firm).

The firm has also reached the finals in seven institutional categories covering deals, fintech, energy and resources, labour and employment, tax and wealth management, technology, media and telecommunications, as well as Kuwait Law Firm of the Year.

The inclusion of Abdulaziz and Fawaz Alkhateeb among the Super 50 MENA Lawyers 2026 represents a professional recognition already achieved, while the firm’s 10 award nominations reflect its broader participation in regional competition across multiple legal disciplines and individual categories.

Established in Kuwait in 1969, Taher Group Law Firm has expanded its practice over more than five decades across dispute resolution, corporate and commercial matters, transactions, finance, investment and international legal services.

The firm said the recognition reflects the collective efforts of its team and the depth of professional experience accumulated over the years, alongside its continued investment in developing Kuwaiti legal talent and strengthening its ability to handle complex legal and commercial matters.
