Two Indians Arrested For Abandoning Deceased Friend On Wheelchair At Hospital In Kuwait

KUWAIT CITY, Jan 17: Kuwaiti security authorities have successfully resolved the case of an “unknown body” that was brought to Mubarak Hospital under suspicious circumstances, leading to the arrest of two Indian nationals involved in the incident.

According to official sources, the case came to light after two men brought in the body of their deceased friend to Mubarak Hospital using a wheelchair, handed him over to a hospital worker, and then fled the scene. The unusual manner in which the body was abandoned prompted immediate suspicion and triggered an investigation by security authorities.

Subsequent forensic examination confirmed that the deceased, also an Indian national, had died of natural causes. However, investigations revealed that the two suspects acted out of fear of reporting the death to the authorities or seeking medical assistance, as they were living illegally in Kuwait under expired visa.

Details of the incident indicate that, following their friend’s death, the two men transported his body in their vehicle to Mubarak Hospital. Believing that the area was not covered by surveillance cameras, they parked discreetly and attempted to avoid attracting attention. One of the suspects exited the vehicle, obtained a wheelchair, and placed the deceased on it, while the other remained in the car.

The suspects then approached a hospital worker and urgently requested that the patient be taken to a doctor, giving the impression that he required immediate medical attention. Shortly after handing over the wheelchair, both men fled the hospital premises.

Hospital staff later discovered that the individual was already deceased and immediately notified the authorities. Security forces launched a swift investigation, reviewed surveillance footage, and were able to identify, track down, and arrest the two suspects.

The men have been detained, and legal procedures are currently underway. Authorities confirmed that all necessary measures are being taken in accordance with the law, including action related to residency violations.

Officials have reiterated the importance of reporting deaths and emergencies through proper legal channels, stressing that fear of legal consequences should not lead to actions that complicate investigations or disrupt public health and safety procedures.
