Two Explosions Reported Near Oman in Strait of Hormuz

LONDON, Aug 6 : The UK Maritime Trade Operations (UKMTO) has reported a delayed notification of a maritime security incident approximately 9 nautical miles southeast of Kumzar, Oman, in the Strait of Hormuz.

According to the report, the master of a tanker heard two explosions while the vessel was transiting the strategic waterway. The crew and the vessel were reported safe, and no environmental damage was observed following the incident.

UKMTO advised all vessels operating in the area to exercise heightened caution while transiting the Strait of Hormuz and to immediately report any suspicious activity to the maritime security authority. The cause of the explosions was not immediately known.
