KUWAIT CITY, Oct 25: A dispute involving two Criminal Investigation Department personnel and three citizens in the Sabah Al-Salem area has resulted in a misdemeanor case involving allegations of public intoxication, insulting a public employee and assault, alongside counterclaims of the use of force.
According to a security source, the two citizens working in the Criminal Investigation Department, born in 2002 and 1992, stated that they stopped three citizens, born in 2001, 1979 and 1994, on suspicion of being intoxicated in a public place.
The two personnel said that when they asked the three men to accompany them, the men allegedly insulted and assaulted them.
However, the three citizens denied the accusations during the investigation and claimed that force had been used against them, resulting in conflicting accounts of the incident.
After reviewing the circumstances and consulting the Deputy Public Prosecutor regarding the allegations made by both sides, the case was registered as a misdemeanor, and the necessary legal procedures are underway.
The authorities are continuing to follow the required procedures to address the allegations and establish the circumstances surrounding the incident.
