Two dead in Jahra mall fire

Two workers perished on Sunday in a fire at a three-floor commercial complex in the district of Al-Jahra and firemen safely rescued five others from the scorching blaze.
Kuwait Fire Force (KFF) said in a press release the workers who were rescued alive were stranded at the burning build-ing.
The two deaths were result of dense of smoke inside the 1,000-square-meter complex.
Blazes engulfed the three floors of the complex, the KFF said.
Firemen have rapidly scrambled into action, arriving at the scene in just five minutes after being alerted about the ac-cident.
The Directorate-General of Fire Department (DGFD), Saturday announced 4 fire engines managed to control a fire that broke out at the tires dump and scrap area in Mina Abdullah, reports Al-Qabas daily.
In a press release the Public Relations and Media Department of the DGFD said the operations room received a report stating fire was raging at the tire dump and firefighting teams from Mina Abdullah, Umm Al-Haiman, Al-Isnad and Al-Salmiya rushed to the spot to tackle the fire.
The fire-fighting teams worked their way to separate the burning tires from the lot spread over 1,500 sq meters area and prevented it from spreading. The DGFD teams are investigating the cause of the fire. No human casualties have been reported.
