KUWAIT CITY, May 2: Deputy Premier and Minister of Interior Sheikh Mohamed Al-Khaled has suspended the services of two colonels, who were found to be consuming alcoholic drinks and involved in other unethical activities at a camping site in Sabah Al-Ahmed, for three months. Both officers have been referred to the Disciplinary Council for the necessary action.

Meanwhile, a Kuwaiti police major has been referred to authorities for interrogation for allegedly attempting to help an Egyptian to escape from police, reports Al-Anba daily.

A security source said the Kuwaiti and the Egyptian were towing a fiberglass boat when the Coastguard securitymen requested them to show their IDs and the license of the boat.

The source added the Egyptian pushed the security man to the ground and escaped on foot but he was chased and arrested and the Kuwaiti police officer tried in vain to help him escape. However, the Egyptian claimed he was beaten by the securitymen and the officer said he intervened just to calm the situation and not to help him escape.
