Two Caught With a Carton of Imported Liquor, Which Was Meant for ‘Fun’

KUWAIT CITY, Aug 31: Hawally Governorate security personnel arrested two individuals after finding a carton of imported liquor inside their vehicle during a security checkpoint. The two were subsequently referred to the General Department for Drug Control for further investigation after claiming they had purchased the liquor for “fun” and were taking it to an apartment they had rented in the governorate.

According to a security source, officers were manning a checkpoint in Hawally when they became suspicious of the vehicle and its two occupants after noticing signs of nervousness. The officers stopped the vehicle and conducted a search, during which they discovered the carton of imported liquor. When questioned, the two reportedly said the liquor was intended for personal use and that they were transporting it to their rented apartment. However, they did not reveal where they had obtained the liquor, prompting officers to refer them to the Drug Control Department to establish whether the possession was solely for personal consumption or whether there was another purpose behind it.
