KUWAIT CITY, Aug 9: In a major success for anti-narcotics officers, a significant quantity of illegal drugs has been confiscated. Two Asian (Pakistani) nationals were apprehended with approximately 80 kilograms of Crystal Meth, valued at over 1,000,000 Kuwaiti dinars on the black market.

This operation is part of the Ministry of Interior's ongoing efforts to combat drug trafficking and psychotropic substances. The Criminal Security Sector, through the General Department for Combating Narcotics, executed the arrest. The two defendants confessed that a Pakistani dealer who had previously been arrested in Kuwait served a prison sentence, and was deported, was the one running the smuggling and promotion operations from Pakistan

The accused, along with the seized drugs, have been referred to the Public Prosecution for further legal action. The Ministry of Interior continues intensifying its efforts to monitor and intercept drug trafficking activities. The public is encouraged to support these efforts by reporting suspicious activities via the emergency number (112) or the General Department for Combating Narcotics hotline (1884141).

Meth or Methamphetamine, a potent stimulant drug, can appear as a crystalline powder or in rock-like chunks known as “ice,” with colors ranging from white and yellow to brown and pink. Depending on its form and method of use—whether snorted, ingested, injected, or smoked—it is commonly referred to by various nicknames and street names. Some of the most recognized terms include "Crystal," "Crystal Meth," and "Ice," reflecting its appearance and physical properties. Other names, like "Speed," "Geep," and "Go Fast," hint at its stimulating effects, while terms like "Chalk" and "Chalk Dust" reference its powdered form.

Additionally, methamphetamine is known by more colorful and localized nicknames, such as "Chunky Love," "Cotton Candy," and "Scooby Snax." These names vary widely by region and subculture, showcasing the drug's pervasive presence across different social circles. For instance, "LA Glass" and "LA Ice" might be used in specific areas, while "Rocket Fuel" and "Pookie" offer a glimpse into the drug’s impact and appeal. The diverse array of street names reflects both the drug's physical characteristics and its significant influence within various communities.
