KUWAIT CITY, May 6: The Ministry of Interior's Hawally Governorate Department arrested two individuals for allegedly possessing suspected alcoholic substances with the intent to traffic them, as part of ongoing Public Security Sector efforts to pursue violators and drug dealers.
According to the Ministry of Interior, a security patrol in Hawally noticed a vehicle parked without lights. When officers approached, the driver fled and refused orders to stop, prompting a pursuit that ended with the vehicle being forced to stop.
The ministry said the driver and passenger resisted security officers before being subdued. A search of the vehicle reportedly led to the discovery of 85 imported bottles suspected to contain alcohol and KD 4,710 in cash.
When confronted with the seized items, the suspects allegedly confessed to possessing them for selling. Authorities also found that the driver had an outstanding arrest warrant.
The suspects and seized items were referred to the competent authorities for legal action.
The Ministry of Interior affirmed that security campaigns and field patrols will continue to apprehend violators and combat illegal activities, stressing that the law will be firmly applied to preserve public security and safety.
