Two Arrested in Attempted Robbery, Stabbing Incident in Hawally

KUWAIT CITY, Jan 5: The Ministry of Interior's Hawally Governorate Investigations Department has successfully resolved a felony case involving attempted robbery and stabbing in the Hawally district, following the arrest of a woman and her accomplice, accused of committing the crime.

The case began with a complaint filed by a Syrian expatriate, born in 1997, who reported that he was the victim of an attempted robbery, physical assault, and threats by two individuals at around 8:00 pm last Saturday. He stated that the woman stole a silver-colored bag containing 860 Kuwaiti dinars. When he attempted to stop her, her accomplice stabbed him in the left shoulder with a knife, after which both suspects fled the scene.

Upon receiving the report, the Hawally Investigations Department immediately launched search and investigation procedures. Officers inspected the crime scene and, with the help of confidential sources and a review of surveillance camera footage, were able to identify the suspects and determine their whereabouts.

After intensive investigations, the suspects were arrested in the Hawally district and transferred to the Hawally Police Station for questioning. During interrogation, the first suspect admitted that a verbal dispute escalated into him stabbing the victim with a knife. The second suspect confessed to attempted theft, stating that she seized the opportunity to snatch the victim’s bag while he was carrying it.

Investigations confirmed that a physical altercation occurred between the victim and the first suspect as the latter attempted to facilitate their escape and separate the victim from his accomplice after the bag was taken. The suspects and the case were subsequently referred to the Public Prosecution for further legal action.
