‘Tutors’ arrested in Jahra

KUWAIT CITY, Feb 11 : Officers from the Residency Affairs General Department in the Interior Ministry, under the supervision of Assistant Undersecretary for Citizenship and Passports Affairs Major General Sheikh Mazen Al-Jarrah, arrested 26 Arabs and Asians for practicing the teaching profession illegally.

In a press statement, the ministry revealed the department received information about an apartment being used as an institute in Jahra without obtaining a license from the relevant authority.

Acting on the tip-off, a security team from the department raided the apartment and this led to the arrest of 26 Arabs and Asians found to have violated the Labor Law as they were teaching illegally.

When the officers checked the residency permits of the suspects, it was discovered that some of them are on government, private sector and dependent visas. All those arrested were referred to the concerned security department.

Meanwhile, the department reaffirmed its commitment to continue close monitoring and security campaigns to track down all those who violate the laws of this country.
