Turkish Airlines suspends flights to Iran until March 2027

ISTANBUL, Sept 22:  Turkish Airlines has suspended all flights to Iran until at least March 2027, a company representative told Iran International, amid growing restrictions affecting Iran’s international air connectivity.

The representative said the airline currently has no flights scheduled to Iran before March and could not guarantee that services would resume at that time.

Turkey has long been one of the most accessible international destinations for Iranians, with relatively affordable travel and extensive air links supporting tourism, family visits and business travel.

The prolonged suspension by Turkish Airlines would further reduce international air connections for Iranians, who are facing increasing restrictions on overseas travel.

The development comes as Iraq also moves to halt flights by Iranian carriers following a warning from the US Treasury about a potential worldwide shutdown.
