KUWAIT CITY, Aug 6: Ministry of Public Works, in coordination with the General Traffic Department, closed Tunis Street in Hawally area, from the intersection of Beirut Street signal to the Fourth Ring Road intersection, for a period of one month, starting from Friday, August 5. According to informed sources, the closure is aimed at fixing a problem on the street, which is the presence of depressions as a result of sinking of ground (soil) beneath the layers of asphalt.

This defect, which the ministry intends to fix, is not in the asphalt layers, but in the lower soil, as it resulted in a cave-in in the asphalt. It will remove the asphalt layers and treat the lower ground layer completely in order to prevent any future cave-ins.
