WASHINGTON, April 29: US President Donald Trump has declared that Iran will never be allowed to obtain nuclear weapons, while reportedly instructing aides to prepare for a prolonged blockade strategy against the country.
Speaking during a state dinner at the White House on Tuesday, Trump emphasized Washington’s firm stance on Tehran’s nuclear ambitions. Without directly naming Iran in part of his remarks, he said the United States had “militarily defeated that particular opponent” and would never allow it to acquire nuclear weapons.
Trump also claimed that King Charles III shares his position on preventing Iran from becoming a nuclear power, adding that the issue is being addressed with strong determination.
Meanwhile, a report by The Wall Street Journal revealed that Trump has directed his aides to prepare for the possibility of an extended blockade targeting Iran, signaling a potential escalation in US pressure on Tehran.
The developments come amid ongoing tensions in the Middle East, with Washington continuing efforts to curb Iran’s nuclear program and regional influence.
